Maureen Dowd opened the door. Now white men are released. But white men will not be allowed to stray too far because the un-ladies, that is, the new women, will still need them for occasional stud work. Women must maintain the influx of girls in order that the world may continue (d)evolving.

Thanks to Dowd's angry, frustrated, teenage-girl-style tirade, white men may now be referred to as a group. No longer must they consider themselves inferior just because they are spoken of in smarmy, snarly, derisive spews by women and minorities. White men have been elevated in today's segregated, trait-tallying culture by the New York Times and Maureen Dowd.

Dowd apparently believes that the weakened, timid, frail white men that she knows from the New York Times, the US Congress, and Washington's liberal elite are representational of all white men. Dowd apparently is unaware of the white men who continue to populate much of the US, defend the US from its enemies, and have ceded control and power to women simply to be fair and provide opportunity to those unable to succeed without extra affirmative action.

Women activists proclaim that white men have damaged and mismanaged the world. They exclaim that it is time to cede more power to women so that they can then repair the damage inflicted upon the world by white men. However, it is women who are proving to be inadequate stewards and damagers of Western Civilization.

Women fail to see the long-running grand view of the decline of Western Civilization --- that which occurred before the year 2000. Western Civilization's decline started during the first third of the 20th century, gained momentum, and continues to accelerate to this day.

The decline of Western Civilization was concomitant with the empowerment of women. Women gained the right to vote in the US in 1920 with ratification of the 20th Amendment of the US Constitution. The 1960s led to further ceding of power by white men to all Americans through legislation outlawing race-based discrimination relating to voting and poll taxes.

Dowd colored and dressed up in simplistic political tone her bigoted and racist opinion that women are great powerhouses who would have achieved so very much if they had not been held back by white men.

Dowd denigrates women by that assertion. Her assertion implies that women are not capable of overcoming white men's power to hold them down.

To the contrary, most white men who have been involved in building Western Civilization over the last 2,500 years, from classic Greeks and Romans, onward to the Reformation, Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, and the Age of Information understood the  process of building a civilization. Their understanding mandated that they search for and accept assistance from nearly anyone capable of contributing. Most of these highly achieving white men -- if the philosophy of many such as John Stuart Mill and John Locke is to be trusted -- welcomed and argued for acceptance of input from anyone capable of providing advanced thought.

Who held back women over the last 2,500 years? Why wasn't another sort of western civilization developed by any women's groups?  Why are South America, Africa, Asia only capable of barely emulating Western Civilization?  Why aren't these cultures capable of advancing beyond Western Civilization and proceeding onward in their own more advanced directions? Why haven't several higher civilizations managed by women over the last centuries created their own literature and economic, cultural and scientific achievements? Why didn't at least a few South American, African, Asian, and other civilizations evolve to lift all its members as effectively as Western Civilization has?

Is it conceivable that only those white men who developed Western Civilization over the last 2,500 years were capable enough to develop such a mechanism to raise most of its members? Is white men's Western Civilization the only model for success?

Why today do so many inadequate individuals have the audacity to attack white men? Why today do so many demonstratively inadequate individuals and groups have the audacity to repeatedly shout, scream, and yell their assertion that they are better and best at so many activities than are white men?

You know the answer to these questions. Your mom taught you when you were young. Oh, your mom didn't teach you the answer to this or many other questions?  And your mom wouldn't allow your dad to teach you?

OK, then here is the answer to both of the above questions:

Individuals and groups who are genuinely the best rarely need to shout to announce that they are the best. Rather, their work -- the product of their mental and physical labor -- stands out on its own. It is eventually perceived by others of intellect as best.

Thanks to those white men who have been consistent over the last five centuries of philosophical, industrial, and technological invention, discovery, and philosophical development started by classic Greek and Roman white men, all people are free to use and benefit from their ultimate product.

Their product -- the over-arching accomplishment of mankind's white men -- has lifted the quality of life for all people everywhere to varying degrees limited only by their own individual skills. That grand product of white men is...

And now, if white men were as weenied down and ineffectual as Maureen Dowd and her ilk like to think, they would simply shrink away and wait for a call to stud and swallow the necessary little blue pill(s).

However, many white men are smart, compassionate, and will not shirk or shrink from their responsibilities.

Many white men invite women to join their team, participate, and give it their best. Because of this, women are now effectively in control of Western Civilization.

People everywhere should hope that women are humble and wise enough to recognize their failure and call white men for assistance.

To merely speak of white men's accomplishments over centuries beginning with classic Greek philosophers and mathematicians and throughout the last five centuries up to today, implicitly exposes the lack of accomplishments of all other groups. Each woman had just as much opportunity to create a western civilization of their own as did white men. They failed to accomplish that project. Instead they have wrested control of Western Civilization from white men.

Never mind that the shrieking shriek. Never mind the contrivance known as politically correct.

White men are now free, identified as a group having a one-use-only label:  White men.

White men will never need to shriek, shout, or demand attention for their accomplishments. That is because their accomplishments are on display. Their accomplishments stand above all under the grand banner:  Western Civilization.

White men are confident, adequate, and have invited and allowed women to work with them.

If women are more capable, all shall benefit. If others demonstrate their inadequacy and fail, white men will be called upon to implement repair. But, before women call, they should wash their hair, cover their upper arms, pits, thighs, and breasts, change their voice from that juvenile whiny, often loud, course shrillness to a natural soft, feminine sound, stop talking on their cell phone and drinking bottled water while driving their SUVs straight-armed. And women should start eating meats and fats to clear up their complexions.

Often the less-adequate fail to have the strength of character or intellect to admit inadequacy and weak character. Thus, they go down with their ships.

It may appear these days that white men are nearly extinct. But if white men are approaching extinction, shouldn't some bunch of kooks from some fringe group start rounding them up, collect donations and government aid, and put them in a zoo?

Are women afraid to take back the natural roles that they lost during their struggle for rights? Are women afraid to be ladies? Women lost their natural roles when the Women's Movement forced them to abandon natural activities, while promising that they could be both women and men. Are now-liberated women afraid to re-join men, form genuinely strong teams, and live comfortably without cultural confrontation?
