From the inscription
on the Statue Of Liberty, inscribed with the poem
"The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" |

There is a dawning
in 2009 America. It may be sensed in news from the
streets where the poor, the less-worthy, the
criminal, the unsuccessful inhabit their unkempt,
ne'er adequate, intellectually-free houses, where
they have, do, and will stay until time ends. |
|
These
occupier occupants of America, these consumers of
products, these unwilling to learn, these unwilling
to accept the rule of law, these unable to live by
the rules of civil behavior, these takers of
services, these all-knowing and most stubborn,
entitled fortitude-lacking clumps, these void of
curiosity having no desire to achieve, these
unworthy are suddenly eager with anticipation. They
are charged up, yet they simply stay, waiting with
no trepidation or fear or question of their
entitlement broadening. |
|
Their
due is near. This much they know. |
|
Word
spread that there was to be a dawning in America for
them. They need not change their outlook, lift a
hand, apply effort, nor learn or accept knowledge.
They need not work to accomplish. Their
accomplishment is defined as just simply being. |
|
The
greatness of America's productivity will be laid
upon them simply for being themselves, for
continuing to hold a dearth of skills, for having
pride in an angry and envious pseudo-culture, for
feeling no pride in meaningful work, and
being null of accomplishment. |
|
There
has arrived a mesmerizing, messianic charlatan who
will redistribute from those who accomplish and earn
to those who need. To those who need, not for lack
of health or opportunity, but for lack of effort. |
|
This
messiah will take from those who have accomplished,
those who are daily productive, those who innovate,
those consistently law-abiding, civil-behaving
individuals who work tirelessly to accomplish and
achieve. |
|
The
unworthy, the less-worthy, the whining, the
inadequate, the unlawful, the fakers are about to
reap reward for being. For being. Just being. Just
being what they have been: Uninspired to partake of
near-infinite opportunity offered to all for no
trouble, the long-term inadequate, mal-educated,
misdirected, and simple consumers. |
|
|
These
entitled, open-handed takers and their messiah fail
to comprehend that their attitude, their
unworthiness, their taking dispirits the productive
achievers who built -- but may not continue to build
America. |
|
There
is an end to America's plenty. It will end as
unworthy takers grab from worthy achievers and are
fed through the high-friction, money-eroding
government conduit. |
